We are feeling SO grateful, honored, and honestly a little giddy to share that Green Girl Recycling has been selected as the June “Business of the Month” at SouthState Bank on Hover Road in Longmont!

This month, if you stop into the SouthState Bank Hover Road branch, you’ll see a little Green Girl Recycling love on display: shredding boxes, shredded paper, recycling information, coupons for one FREE box of paperwork destroyed, and one very special centerpiece that we are completely obsessed with…

Our brand-new lit Green Girl Recycling ski sign, handmade by the incredibly talented Bridger Neimeyer, owner of Upcycled Skis.

And yes, it is as gorgeous as it sounds.

Bridger took retired skis and transformed them into a glowing, creative, mountain-town masterpiece that now proudly says GGR in the coolest way possible. It is sustainable, artistic, totally unique, and feels like it was made from pure Colorado soul. We are IN LOVE with it.

Even better? Green Girl Recycling is now partnering with Bridger in another upcycling twist that makes our recycling hearts very happy. We are able to give him old flat screen TVs, which he carefully takes apart and repurposes, using the screens and materials to help create his wicked-cool illuminated signs.

Instead of those materials heading to Denver to be broken apart and recycled properly, they get a second life as glowing, functional artwork - LOVE that!!

That is EXACTLY the kind of creative reuse we love to support.

We are so proud to partner with a local artist and small business owner who sees possibility where most people see junk. Bridger’s work is a perfect example of what upcycling can be: practical, beautiful, unexpected, local, and just plain COOL.

Please go check out Bridger’s work here: Upcycled Skis. He creates amazing custom signs, lighting, and functional art from upcycled skis and reclaimed materials. His pieces are the perfect mix of mountain life, creativity, sustainability, and “how did you even think of that?!” energy.

A huge thank-you also goes out to Nate Johnson, the branch manager at SouthState Bank, and truly the entire team at that location. We adore Nate and cannot say enough great things about every teller, account manager, and person working out of that branch.

A few years ago, Nate helped us move some of our savings into a money market account, and that one smart banking move became a real financial game-changer for Green Girl Recycling. It is not every day that you find a bank team that is kind, helpful, smart, patient, and genuinely invested in helping a small local business grow. But that has been our experience with SouthState Bank, again and again.

They have been wonderful to work with, and we feel so lucky to have this kind of local banking support right here in Longmont.

To celebrate being featured as Business of the Month, we wanted to offer something fun for the community:

Stop by SouthState Bank this June and grab a coupon for one FREE box of paperwork - we will shred the paperwork in FRONT of you and guess what; 100% of our shredded paper is baled and those bales go directly to a paper mill. We close the loop on shredding, it's all recycled!

That’s right. Anyone who picks up a Green Girl Recycling coupon from the display at SouthState Bank this month can bring us one box of paperwork for secure shredding, FREE.

We love helping people clean out old files, protect their private information, and recycle that paper responsibly. So this is our little thank-you to the community, with a big shiny bow made of shredded-paper confetti.

--Thank you again to SouthState Bank on Hover Road in Longmont for featuring Green Girl Recycling as your June Business of the Month.

--Thank you to Nate Johnson and the whole SouthState team for being such an amazing resource for local businesses.

--And thank you, Bridger, for creating a sign that lights up our name, our mission, and our recycling-loving hearts.

Come see the display, grab a coupon, and help us celebrate local businesses supporting local businesses.

We make recycling easy… and

now we do it with a freaking-awesome glowing ski sign. ♻️⛷️✨
