This past Saturday I had the amazing opportunity to get to speak to the Women's Mission Group at the Heart of Longmont Church at 350 Emery Street in Longmont. United Women in Faith seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship and education so that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities. See this link for more details about this very impactful organization: https://www.heartoflongmont.org/united-women-in-faith/
I was blessed with an amazing customize-your-own salad before the speech. Getting out into the community, working with others to educate and share tips/tricks and resources is near and dear to my heart. It was a blast to get to make new connections, answer some outstanding questions and be USEFUL - a huge goal of mine each and every day.
I was lucky enough to get to sit near Nancy Swope, who is one of the Church patricians and a total green leader through and through. Nancy told me that she and her daughter were amongst some of the first people who help collect recycling throughout Longmont in the late 1970's and that she was still recycling and advocating for everything green today. Of course, I just fell in love with her!
If you'd like to learn more about how Eco-Cycle got started and why Green Girl Recycling adores this organization and continues to partner with them to this day, see: https://ecocycle.org/about-us/our-history/#:~:text=In%201976%2C%20Eco-Cycle%20was%20founded%20by%20local%20Boulder,Eco-Cycle%E2%80%99s%20work%20has%20advanced%20Colorado%E2%80%99s%20Zero%20Waste%20goals.
Together we can all make a difference recycling - you never know who you'll get to meet in this industry. I was sincerely grateful for the opportunity to speak locally, but more make new friends and help be a resource for keeping more out of the landfill. I'm on a mission to help others. Thank you for thinking green with us here at Green Girl Recycling, because every day is a great day to be GREEN! #greengirlrecycling #RecyclingColorado #EcoCycle
